Assalamualaykum, I’m Asad.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Health Promotion and have completed a Master of Pastoral Studies with a specialization in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy. I am a Registered Psychotherapist, practicing independently and grounded in an approach that integrates both clinical excellence and Islamic tradition.

My journey in Islamic studies began at the Mathabah Institute under Shaykh Omer Subedar, where I studied Fiqh, Aqeedah, Tafsir, and Usool al-Qur’an. I continue to advance my Islamic education through the Taqwa Institute, the Irshad Center for Hanafi Studies, and currently as a part-time student in the ʿĀlimiyyah Program at Ma’had Zakariya. This blend of spiritual learning and formal clinical training shapes my holistic and values-centered approach to psychotherapy—one that honours the profound connection between mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.

With over a decade of experience as a health and wellness coach and three years serving as a Peer Counselor with the Naseeha Muslim Youth Helpline, I have developed a deep understanding of the diverse challenges facing the Muslim community. My specialized work with Purify Your Gaze, supporting individuals overcoming pornography and sex addiction, has equipped me with the sensitivity, insight, and tools needed to address such struggles in a compassionate and effective manner.

In therapy, I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, and Traditional Islamically Integrated Psychotherapy (TIIP). This integrated approach allows me to tailor the therapeutic process to your unique needs while remaining firmly rooted in your cultural and spiritual values.

I understand the isolation, shame, and inner conflict that can arise when one’s actions clash with deeply held beliefs. My mission is to help you reconnect with your core values, regain a sense of agency, and build healthier, more meaningful relationships. Whether you are navigating addiction or seeking greater balance, purpose, and spiritual alignment, I am here to support you.

Book a session, and together we can work toward a life anchored in your principles—grounded, purposeful, and whole.
